About Us
Five for Good was started by a group of college students who wanted to change the world and had absolutely no idea where to start. It's easy to become paralyzed with hopelessness or uncertainty - so many people in our nation are in that space right now. But we found comfort and motivation in each other and our communities, and wanted to extend that sense of camaraderie to the Chicago area as a whole. At the end of the day, all we can change is our communities.
Leadership

Asha Mehta
Founder
I'm Asha (she/her) and I'm from the Bay Area, CA! I'm a sophomore studying political science and physics and I love playing ultimate frisbee, creative writing, and dragging my friends on little adventures. I started Five For Good because I noticed that everyone in my life shared the same frustration: we had the time and energy to make a change, but we were so overwhelmed with possibilities and learned helplessness that we felt powerless. I hope to build a community of activists and help everyone feel a little less alone in this fight.

Lily Prokop
Treasurer
I’m Lily (she/her) and I’m from Los Angeles, California. I am a sophomore at Northwestern University. I’m studying neuroscience, and enjoy being part of a lab that studies movement and motor learning. In my free time, I like to spend time with friends, play guitar, read, and go on lakeside walks. I joined Five For Good because I want to help create change, and be a part of its community that is united to make a positive impact.

Maria Ziegler
Head of recruitment & marketing
I’m Maria, I’m from Forest, VA, and I’m studying mechanical engineering and psychology. I love soccer, playing piano, and reading! I’m in Five For Good because I’m passionate about using my influence to help others, and standing up for what’s right.

Elizabeth Aaseng
Outreach coordinator
I’m Liz, I use she/her pronouns, and I’m an Environmental Science major at Northwestern University. I spend my free time gardening, reading, and hanging out with friends. I love science and am in an organic geochemistry lab where I study leaf waxes from Greenland. I am in Five For Good because I want to help create a network of people with like interests and drive to do good. I know it’s hard to know where to start and what to support, so it’s always nice to have someone to do it with. My community is always helping me to be a better person, so I want to make that a reality for others as well.

Jacob Singer
Head of donations
I'm Jacob (He/They) and I'm a sophomore studying physics and math at Northwestern University. When I'm not locked up studying, I enjoy reading, hanging out with friends, practicing bass, re-watching Ghibli movies, etc. I've also always loved learning about and spending time in nature, and I've been afflicted by climate anxiety from a young age, so I've always been interested in environmental activism. While environmental issues remain my central concern, I have since broadened my focus to include all forms of social justice. I believe in the power of a grassroots, community-first approach to social change, and I believe Five For Good will allow me to foster such a welcoming, socially-minded community.

Zeta Whitmer
Head of community building
I am Zeta Whitmer, and I'm from Rochester, Indiana. I am a current sophomore at Northwestern University, double majoring in political science and legal studies. I am passionate about activism because I think change is possible, but it requires effort from everyone. I joined FFG because it gives people a positive outlet to truly make a tangible impact!

Abigail Jacob
Head of activist map team
I’m Abby (she/her), and I’m a sophomore at Northwestern University! I’m originally from New Jersey and I’m majoring in economics and history, minoring in math (…for now). In my free time, I love to bake, read, and play D&D with my friends! I joined Five For Good because it’s a way for me to help make a tangible positive impact on the world — especially during a time when so many things are happening that have made me feel otherwise powerless and hopeless.
